What We Don’t Say: Day 16

That small church with a handful of cars that I mentioned earlier, is probably 9/10 times that small because the pastor in his way guided by God preaches that message. At the same time 9/10 times the big churches are big because they have taken all of that out and don’t even open their Bibles for a sermon unless it’s to abuse the message on stewardship when their PowerPoint presentation on giving money to the mission field crashes in the middle of a Sunday morning service. No, I’m not making that up sadly. First there is nothing wrong with PowerPoint presentations on a Sunday night service. Second, there is most definitely nothing wrong with giving money to the mission field, these people use the money to reach out and help communities all over the world, even in the States. Third there is nothing wrong with stewardship. Fact of life that churches have bills to pay too. But to have all of this abused on a Sunday morning means that the church is not founded on prayer and it does not put God first. Always put God first.

Children: Assignment 14

Boy I have some catching up to do 😀

Matthew 19:14

14Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 21:16

16“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked Him.  “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, ‘From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise?’

Mark 9:36-37

36He took a little child and had him stand among them, 37“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me does not welcome Me but the one who sent Me.”

Do you ever feel so lost in this world that you want to cry out but you don’t know who to cry out to?  Do you ever feel lost or alone and you really want your parents though you’re old enough that you’re told to “suck it up” and get over it?  God doesn’t expect you to get over it on your own.  He’s your Father and He truly loves you even when it seems that there’s nothing out there.  He will help you if you call out to Him and all you have to do is ask.  There’s a point where you’ll feel like a kid lost in the mall and you can run away or you can run to Him.  He’s what gives meaning to all the suffering in this world and He’s the only relief from it.  All else are band aids.

Children: Assignment 1

Explain in your own words what this means to you.

Exodus 20:5

5You shall not bow down to them or worship them; For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me,

                Genesis 9:25

25[Noah] said, “Cursed be to Canaan! The lowest of slaves he will be to his brothers.”

                Leviticus 26:39

39Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their fathers’ sins they will waste away.

Common question: If the only way into heaven is through Christ then why are there people that have never heard of them?  What about them?  Would this verse help you answer them?

Your choices affect your children as they look to you for guidance and if you take away God from them then they will suffer for your actions.  This is a common theme in this project so it may come up again.
